She said: “It is nice to see to encourage people to look after the environment. The Great White Cherry tree that I am planting today in South Park will remain there for decades to remember the importance of planting trees and shrubs. Trees are man’s best friends.”
Transformational day took place at Ilford Vhp Community Centre there after from 10.30am to 5pm. A new library was created with shelves put up and books stacked on them, gardening and cleansing of toilets, bathroom tiled, and panels put up, damp areas peeled, toilets repaired, whole centre cleaned.
Around 35 to 40 volunteers took part- youngest volunteer was 9 and the oldest 85…this shows anyone can help their community if they want to.
